I got scammed....good.

LimeWire provides a library of music, which is shared and downloadable from various LimeWire users on the internet. It's great for creating your own personal CDs of songs you really, really want....instead of buying a whole CD with just one or two songs you like. You can also download movies.

Last year I came across a website that offered a once in a lifetime deal, buy LimeWire "for life" for a fee of just $49.95US. This was compared with another package offering only one year or two year terms at similar prices. I thought, heck, for a few dollars more I can get a lifetime of music.

Then, a few months later, I bought an add-on, which for $29.95US would receive the super-duper, turbo-charged search mechanism and turbo-charged downloading capabilities. Great!

This morning I received notice from LimeWire that a new version of software was now available, and to simply "click here" I would have the newest and greatest. But when I opened up the new version, my super-duper search thingy was missing.

And, when I tried to contact the support team at LimeWire, they do not recognize my email address as a LimeWire member...with a LimeWire membership. So, okay...this is a mistake. I know damn well I purchased this stuff.

So, off I go to the 'forums' on LimeWire, threads and threads of stuff, things way behind my comprehension. Then I found a post that described my similar situation and I hurriedly wrote a message stating I was in the same boat.

I get a response from some guy in the forum that tells me,
"hey novice internet user...you got scammed". WTF. This jerk is calling me novice. So I read on and discover LimeWire is
FOR FREE. There is no such thing as a LIFETIME membership. YOU GOT SCAMMED!

Sure enough, I got to the LimeWire website, and there it is...for FREE. The only thing you pay for is the super-duper search thingy, and it seems my purchase last year has now EXPIRED.

Boy, am I pissed!
